It's at least as good as the classic, and my other favorite, Tea for the Tillerman. I have been listening to Cat Stevens since Tea for the Tillerman came out in 1970. I went back and bought Mathew and Son at the time but overlooked this gem. "Trouble" is my favorite song on the album but they are all good. It should be in everyone's movie collection IMHO. I just got it after all the years and I think it's great.
After that comes Teaser and the Firecat, mostly, but not exclusively, for "Moonshadow" and "Peace Train". I even had the songbook(and still do) for the album. These two are good straight through. He seems more intense on this one than any of the other recordings. I think his recent bout with TB and pop stardom(see "Pop Star") had a lot to do with it. Also, get the movie Harold and Maude(1971) if you haven't seen it.
Cat Stevens' songs on the soundtrack embellish an unbelievably good film.
The music really touches your soul and makes you want to climb back into the late 60's and early seventies. This cd is a must have for any fan of the 1970's music scene. You can really tell he sings from his heart and is on a search to a meaning. After purchasing this cd i would highly recommend you getting the tea for the tillerman alblum it also is an amazing gift. Don't forget the Road singer alblum form Cat Stevens (Yusuf) comes out early may so reserve yours today.

Through Amazon, bought two CDs, namely Mona Bona Jakon and Foreigner(Cat Stevens). Neither article has to date been received-almost one month later. A book purchased however arrived within two weeks.
Cat Stevens has a distinctive voice, and it really comes out on this CD. I don't love every song, and none of the songs made it to pop hit status as I recall, but who cares if you love his voice, you'll love this CD.
